Laocoön Group

An ancient marble group showing the Trojan priest Laocoön and his sons struggling with serpents. Excavated in Rome in 1506 and celebrated since antiquity, the work became a central reference for Renaissance and later sculptors studying anatomy, twisting movement, emotional intensity, and the organization of a multi-figure group.
